Building a shared future of community prosperity requires a shared responsibility to ensure that all people and communities are treated fairly. The Equitable Policy Processes for Multisector Health Efforts tool builds on BHPN’s Healthy Neighborhood Investments and Strategy Map and our organization’s work with multisector coalitions across the country.

The resource helps coalitions embed equity at every stage of the policymaking process with actionable steps to share power, engage stakeholders, and operationalize equity through public policy that helps create healthier, more equitable, and thriving communities.

BHPN has been supporting local policy change since publishing the Healthy Neighborhood Investments and Strategy Map, a resource of federal, state, and local policies being tested nationwide. Our summary of takeaways from multisector leaders who utilized the strategy map contains specific recommendations for how to implement a healing policy process.

BHPN is now deepening our approach to center equity throughout the policy process to support local multisector efforts. This includes partnership with Healthier Together – Pierce & St. Croix Counties coalition in Wisconsin and the Wild, Wonderful & Healthy West Virginia.  Learn more about this work from the resources below:
